Dan’s journey as a storyteller began by telling his young children epic tales like I Didn’t Eat the Last Cookie, The Bacon I’m Cooking Is Supposed to Be on Fire, and Our Minivan Was Upside Down When I Got Here. Now his kids are bigger and so are his stories, including Wands and Roses.Dan is a New York Times best selling author…in his wildest dreams. In reality, he won an award for writing, but that award was for the fantasy category of the parody Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest.Michigan is where Dan and his family make their home.
The Edward Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest is won by writing the "best" worst opening sentence of a novel. It's named after the author who famously began one of his novels "It was a dark and stormy night..." To read my winning entry, scroll down to the fantasy category. (Dan White is my non-pen name.)

You'll be the first to know about my next book and get updates on its progress, but no more than once a month. To sweeten the deal, I'll throw in the free short story described below. All I ask for in return is your email address.
